18 Mar Parker Byrd Becomes 1st Player In D1 Baseball To Collect A Hit With A Prosthetic Leg!
What a night…What a story…What a Young Man! ECU redshirt sophomore Parker Byrd collected his first Pirate base hit, a single vs William & Mary, this past Friday night. We were there. And it was as special as Parker is. He becomes the first D1 player in the history of college baseball to achieve this with a prosthetic leg. We obviously have a deep connection and relationship with Parker. We’ve known him for many years. He has spent many dozens of hours training here since the accident & so many kids in here have been impacted by watching him work. Whether it’s hitting lessons, cage work, movement training, speed work….kids have watched & witnessed him in here, battling and overcoming his circumstances. There are no words for the feelings of watching him get that hit Friday night. Parker is an inspiration to literally millions across the world. God is good!
