GWU OF Robby Wacker With A Special Return Home!

07 Mar GWU OF Robby Wacker With A Special Return Home!

Such a cool weekend for our own ROBBY WACKER (JHR). Robby is a Greenville, NC baseball kid, grew up in Next Level, and his parents are both retired professors at ECU. As quality a young man as there is, Robby has not had an easy ⚾️ recruiting path……Out of Rose, he committed very late (Spring of senior year) to the University of Richmond. There, he prepared/fought /worked, the way he always has, for 2 years to try to earn his way on the field, but it just didn’t work out. Due in part to the finances & scholarship rules of college baseball, he decided to transfer. He ended up at Division III Emory University. There he was a 2x All-Conference performer & earned his degree in Spring ’22. Due to Covid, he had 2 years of eligibility remaining. So, he entered the portal. George Washington University ended up being the right fit for his Master’s Degree and Baseball. Then the schedule comes out and he sees that GWU opens their season in his hometown vs ECU. Then he gets moved from 3B/SS to LF for the first time in his college playing career. And suddenly he’s opening the season, as GWU’s starting Left Fielder in front of the Jungle, where he watched many a game. After a great weekend of Jungle Banter, he Homered Sunday into the LCF Jungle. HE HAD A BLAST playing here all weekend & got loved up by many local friends before climbing on the bus to leave. So pumped for Robby and his parents John & Lori & we’ll be following him the rest of the year!
