A record-breaking night for Dixon Williams last night, as he collected a franchise-record 10 RBI, for the Atlanta Braves High A affiliate, the Rome Emperors. Playing vs the Asheville Tourists, Dixon went 4-5, with 2 Home Runs, a 2B, and a whopping 10 Runs Driven In!👀. Then, after the game was promoted to AA in Columbus! That’ll do! Way to go Dixon!

The senior RHP has produced excellent sophomore & junior seasons on the bump for DHC….continued….

Last year in 11 relief appearances, he was 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA with 43Ks in 29IP. He’s had an excellent summer on the Showcase Circuit & as a member of the Region 1 State Games team. More importantly, Caleb truly embodies the overall DEVELOPMENT that we seek for every player. And the RELATIONSHIP we hope to build! ⚾️Skill, Mental, Physical, Leadership, Ability to Communicate, Intentionality…We’ve gotten to walk thru each age with him. I recently saw Coach Mills comment that Caleb “is one of the most important pieces of the program.” We feel the same way in here. Caleb has emerged as a leader for Coach Harris & I upstairs. Always gets his work done. Through example, helps others get their work done. He explosively High-Pulled 225lbs for 5 yesterday to cap off his summer! Not easy! That triple-extension move started with 95 lbs 4 years ago. Super proud of ALL the Development Caleb has achieved, in each of the areas above since Little League, and he’s not nearly done. The Catamounts got a good one!

He’s continued to shine bright on the summer circuit & it was no surprise his phone rang quickly on 8/1. ECU has committed the powerful righty as a P/3B and do not be surprised if he does some big things at the plate over the next 2 high school seasons &/or summers. He can hit. Gavin has grown up in here & it’s been our honor to know this whole family since Little League…(I’ve even bought 5 Jet Skis from Curtis😊)!! Had the most mature conversation with Gavin on Monday & we got the best text from him Tuesday night. I say that because getting to watch all of those stages of maturation is EVERYTHING! He’s only starting his junior year, so we’ll all get to see & celebrate so much more in the coming years. Really pumped for Gavin & the Whitley family!

What a summer of Little League All-Star play it has been for this group of players, coaches and families & what a week it has been for them in Wilson, NC at the Southeast Tournament of State Champions!
GREENVILLE TAR HEEL LITTLE LEAGUE’S 9-10 ALL-STARS captured the title today, with a resounding 10-2 win vs South Carolina. Tar Heel went 5-0 in the tourney, defeating GA, SC & WV in pool play. Then defeating GA in the semis on Tuesday, before capturing the title today vs a traditionally strong and proud program, Northwood LL from Greenville, SC.
This was a really fun and well-prepared group to follow thru districts, states and the TOSC. Really pumped for all these players, these families and Coach Miller, Coach Harris and Coach Jenkins. On the cup forever, on the wall forever..and… at this age, you TRULY celebrate…with a pool party!

CAMERON COTTER, who has pitched so far this year in Mexico, Kinston, & then signed by the Reds & pitched in AA, was promoted to AAA Louisville…..BUT….it gets better. That night, he combined with another one of our DUDES, his good friend, who he has trained with, SAM BENSCHOTER, to help AAA Louisville get the win. Sam went 2IP to get the Hold, followed by Cam going 2 scoreless IP to get the Save. So pumped for the big 24 hours for Cam. INCREDIBLY cool these guys are pitching together.

A three-year, 2-way starter for South Central Softball, this past season she hit .371 with 4 Home Runs, 14 extra base hits😳 & 25 RBI, while making 8 appearances in the circle, coming off injury. Ava has had to overcome some bad luck with injuries, but has continued to battle back each time with a great spirit & toughness. She & her mom have logged countless hours together in here to that end & I have appreciated all of the time & effort she’s given me upstairs building her body & athleticism. Really proud of all of Ava’s achievements over the years and we will be excited to get to continue to follow her after high school!

In his freshman season at Pitt CC this year, Matthew put together an impressive offensive year, hitting .378 with a team-leading 9 HRs & a team-leading 59 RBI. He compiled an incredible 1.117 OPS & earned 1st Team All-Region honors. He has backed that Spring performance up with a torrid offensive performance this summer, up in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. He was named the League’s Player of the Week in the first week of summer (pictured)…Thru 20 games he hit .351 (good for top 5 in the league), while leading the entire league with 6 Home Runs!
We’ve been watching Matthew since he was in Greenville Little League & we’ve known his wonderful family much further back than that. He’s always been talented, big, strong and fast. But, in Imho, he has TRULY blossomed over the last year. And alotta people in college & professional baseball have taken notice. We talk often of everyone’s path being different and Matthew’s path is yet another example.
